Vermont Cannabis Information

  • Cannabis has a wide variety of uses, whether it be life enhancing, pain relieving, appetite increasing, or the promotion of rest. It may be used socially or independently depending on your preference or activity. That could be hiking, watching a movie, being creative, spending time with friends, or even household chores. Cannabis has the potential to bring added joy to any activity provided the correct dose.

  • Cannabis sales will be subject to a 20% tax (a 14% cannabis excise tax, plus Vermont’s 6% sales tax) with no local option tax. The sales tax portion of the revenue will be allocated to a grant program to begin or expand after-school and summer learning programs, with a focus on under-served areas. Up to 30% of the cannabis tax revenue (up to $10 million per year) will be allocated to substance misuse prevention programming.

  • Cannabis is tested for purity and potency by an independent lab before it is sold. This is to ensure all cannabis is held to high standards and to give consumers the knowledge they need to make informed buying decisions.

  • Green River Cannabis is grown indoors, allowing for ultimate control of the quality outcomes of each plant, and the resulting flower.
